⚓ CPA-Led Financial Leadership

A CFO in Your Corner,
Backed by an Entire Firm.

Imagine having someone who knows your numbers cold — where cash is going, what the margins really are, and what next quarter looks like — sitting on your side of the table. That is what an outsourced CFO from IFS delivers: partner-level financial leadership, with the depth of a full CPA firm behind it.

Clean books. Clear strategy. One firm, working to a standard you can rely on.

What It Is

Financial Leadership, Delivered as a Service

Most growing businesses reach the same awkward stage. The books get done, the return gets filed — but nobody is telling the owner what the numbers mean, where cash is headed, or whether the next big decision actually pencils out. Hiring a full-time CFO is one answer — but a single hire buys you one person's bandwidth and one person's perspective.

Outsourced CFO service is our answer to that gap. We manage your financial function day to day — the books, the cash, the payroll, the receivables and payables — and layer on the forward-looking leadership a CFO provides: forecasting, margin analysis, budgeting, lender support, and year-round tax strategy. All of it delivered by a firm, not an individual — so the tax expertise, the systems discipline, and the partner-level judgment come as one engagement.

The outcome is an owner who stops guessing. You know your numbers, you see what's coming, and there is one licensed firm managing all of it to a professional standard.

Who It's For

This is built for owners who are:

  • Past "just bookkeeping" — the books get done, but nobody says what the numbers mean or what to do next
  • Moving real money — typically $500K–$10M in revenue, where cash, payroll, and margins need active management
  • Facing big decisions — hiring, equipment, expansion, a loan — and want them made on numbers, not nerves
  • Ready to invest in leadership — looking for a financial partner in the business, not the cheapest way to get the books done
What's Included

A Complete CFO Engagement

Every engagement is built on clean monthly books, then layered with the financial leadership your business needs.

📒

Monthly Accounting & Close

Bookkeeping, bank and card reconciliation, and a disciplined monthly close — the foundation everything else stands on.

📊

Financial Reporting & Analysis

P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow — delivered monthly and translated into plain English: what changed, why, and what to do about it.

💵

Cash Management & Forecasting

Day-to-day oversight of where your cash sits, plus forecasts that show what next month and next quarter look like — before they arrive.

📥

Receivables & Payables

A/R and A/P tracked and managed: who owes you, what's due, and when to pay it, so cash keeps moving and nothing ages out.

👥

Payroll Management

Payroll run correctly and on time — wages, withholdings, owner compensation, and the filings behind it, coordinated with your tax strategy.

🎯

Margin & Profitability

Job costing, customer and service-line profitability, and pricing support — so you know where the money is actually made.

🏦

Banking & Lender Support

Financials ready when the bank asks. Support for loan applications, lines of credit, and the questions lenders actually ask.

📑

Tax Strategy & Compliance

Quarterly estimates, entity structure, reasonable compensation, multi-state issues, and sales tax — planned during the year, not discovered in April.

The IFS Standard

Advisory From the Firm That Stands Behind the Numbers

Most firms hand you a stack of reports and call it advisory. We take the opposite view. A CFO's job is to help you run the business — which means the books have to be right, the reporting has to mean something, and the work has to be done to a standard we're willing to put our name near.

That is why outsourced CFO work at IFS is partner-led. Your engagement is overseen by CPAs who maintain the books behind your numbers and prepare the tax return those numbers feed, and who answer the phone when you have a decision to make.

  • Partner-level attention: your CFO is a CPA who knows your business by name, not a call center
  • Built on clean books: disciplined bookkeeping and a monthly close are the foundation of every engagement
  • Nothing slips through: a firm that runs efficiently behind the scenes, so reporting lands on time, every time
  • One firm, zero handoffs: bookkeeping, CFO advisory, and tax strategy coordinated under one roof
  • Quality over volume: we take on the engagements we can run to our standard

Common Questions

Outsourced CFO, Answered

Do I need to replace my bookkeeper?
Not necessarily. Some clients keep an in-house person for daily entry while we oversee the close, reporting, and strategy. Others hand us the whole function. We'll recommend the structure that fits — the only requirement is that the books meet our standard, because everything else depends on them.
How is this different from monthly accounting?
Monthly accounting keeps your books clean and current. CFO service builds on that foundation and adds the forward-looking work: cash forecasting, budgets, margin analysis, payroll and A/R–A/P oversight, lender support, and year-round tax strategy. It's the difference between knowing where you've been and knowing where you're going.
What does it cost?
Engagements are priced as a fixed monthly fee, scoped to the size, complexity, and level of involvement your business needs — so there's no meter running when you call with a question. This is an investment in financial leadership, and we expect it to earn its keep: for the businesses we serve, the return shows up in cash flow, margins, tax outcomes, and better decisions — not in the fee line.
What size business is this right for?
Our sweet spot is owner-operated businesses roughly between $500K and $10M in revenue. Below that, our monthly accounting service is usually the better fit. If you're not sure, a fifteen-minute conversation will sort it out — no pressure either way.
